A Draw Leaf Table or sometimes called a Dutch Pull Out Table
It’s a long story but I was able to acquire a large amount of old growth walnut. It came from a farm near Tulsa and was felled twenty years ago. After years of being stored in the front of a farm shed, it ended up with me in Kansas.
The idea for the build came from an episode of Rough Cut. The show was fast and loose on the design and offered no plans. References on the internet were sparse but just enough to get me started.
The closed dimensions of the table are 36”x 36” x 30”. Each leaf is 12” to expand the table to 48’ or 60” respectively. The top, leaves, aprons and kickers are 1” thick. The legs are 3” square. All parts are sanded to 150. Color is with General Finishes Medium Brown dye that has been reduced by 3:1. Top coat is Arm R Seal Gloss. The chairs are discussed in my next post.
Thanks for Looking!
