This is one of those long term projects that started off as a ‘oh this will only take a weekend’. Yeah.

I started this bookshelf about 8 years ago, then after I got the top and sides glued up I moved to Hoboken and didn’t have a shop, so it sat in my Dad’s shed for about 2 years. Then I bought a house in Central NJ and was able to get the shop up and running again.

Lots of little stuff and fixing the house took priority and it wasn’t until about january that I finally took the time to finish it.

In all it took me about 2 years to complete. Now it’s in the office, which was the bedroom which we had gutted in September.

Nice little bookcase holding all my woodworking mags. Enjoy!

Looks pretty nice and unique. What kinds of wood did you use? Are the frames nailed on to keep them from sliding off? Just kidding. Nice job!!

Oops! the picture makes me think the boolcase is laying on its back and I was about to say that its not proper to place books that way….you will bend them. Ok…rotate the photos.

Very nice design and I like the top. Great work!

I really love the contrasting wood design… I also love how you curved the ends… we have similar tastes as iit resembles some coasters that I built for Christmas gifts (check my projects). AWESOME job!!

Have your say...
