My wife is making the desserts for her sisters baby shower. She bought these little chalkboard signs from the craft store and asked me if I could devise a base for them to stand freely. So I used a cedar branch and made little cookies that she can stick the signs in. This barely can be considered a “project” but I did use tools to shape wood into something useful and attractive, so a project it is. Northern white cedar (Thuja occidentalis), crosscut with a handsaw, sanded to 220, BLOiled and waxed.

Maybe not a “project” but I kind of like them.

Many projects here on LJs are done with a few cuts on a 2×4, but along with being made from wood, they produce something useful, unique, and offer ideas for others to expand upon.
Based on that, those look perfect for what you were trying to achieve.
Great job!
