I made this bench for my wife’s patients to sit outside if they choose while they wait for their appointment time. She often has people show up an hour or more early. It is made from cypress. She also wanted a little drop box incorporated for when people have something to drop off after hours. At the suggestion of another LJ I screwed it to the deck from underneath with some 5” lags. Hopefully that will keep it from walking away, since it is in plain view from the main street through town. Thanks for looking.

Nice bench. Nice place for customers to wait.

Nice bench, Bill. Very nice indeed. If it’s alright, I may want to copy it sometime.

I love it Bill

The side box gives me an idea that if or when I make one the side box can be used as a cup holders.

Nice bench, but I’m wondering how rough the neighborhood is you live in. Do you really have to worry about a BENCH being taken from your front porch?

Thanks Joe. This is not a neighborhood, but a business area right on the main road thru town. Lots of people walk by and there’s a busy laundromat across the street.

Thanks Arlin. I’d like to see a version with a cup holder.

Looks great Bill…...didn’t see it in your notes, but if memory serves, you built it in a day! I wasn’t born with that speed option…..Nice!

I’ll take two….
Can you have them done by Sunday???

Looks like a nice bench to sit and have a cool lemonade or iced tea.
Maybe you should build a lemonade stand!!!

Thanks Jeff. Yes, about 5 hours, with a little playing with Liam in the middle.

Thanks Randy, yours will take about 5 weeks.

Well, it looks great!

And if it makes you feel any better, the city library has its Smith & Hawken teak benches anchored into the concrete with angle brackets and carriage bolts!
