I had seen several LJ’s post these and thought I might tackle one for myself. I had a piece of 1/4” maple ply left over from another project and used pine for the rest. Initially this was to be trial run and I would later build a second board out of better materials later, but when it was done I liked it well enough that I decided to keep rough draft. Crokinole was a game we played as kids and I thought my own children might enjoy it as well. Remarkably this is a game that has no power chord, no screen, no controllers or even a keyboard and somehow it still turned out to be fun! Who would have ever thought (-:
I wasn’t sure how to lay it out or what the correct size was, I didn’t have the right parts for the posts… ect. But, with a little ad libbing we came up with a board that we have all enjoyed! It’s nothing fancy but I highly recommend you all build one for your own family, it’s almost as much fun to build as it is to play!
For those not familiar with the game heres a link to the rules. http://www.crokinole.com/rules.asp

I definately want to make one of these!!! Anything I can do to get my grandchildren to put down their cell phones for even a few mins would be well worth while. You did a very nice job.

I must have led a sheltered childhood but I am going to research this and try to make one. Looks fun and your game board looks great.

Dang… I may have to try this one myself. There are actually you tube videos of the game and they even have a world championship.. nice job. maybe I can get my kids off their keypads and use a set of different motor skills instead and have fun doing it!

Very Nice Kelly. I still have the one my Grandfather and I use to play on by the hour. Around 1950 Vintage.
Amazing how sore your Index finger nail can get after a few hours.
It’s a great Family game.
