Project Information
This is a project that has been on my wife's Honey-Do list for a while now. She wanted to give the kids a place to charge their iPhones that wasn't in bed with them at night. I built this one for my daughters and another similar one for my boys.
This is made from 4/4 Ash and Walnut that I had left over from some bandsaw boxes I had made for Christmas Presents. I re-sawed the Ash and Walnut down to 1/2" strips and then planed it smooth. There is a compartment behind the small drawer that houses the USB cables plus the power strip. Along the back, I drilled one large hole for the power cord plus several smaller ones for ventilation.
The worst part of this project was the constant alterations I kept coming up with as I was building it… "Next time I'm gonna do…" Life of a woodworker, I guess.
