This is an entryway locker that I made for some friends. They wanted one to fit in a corner of a room that leads to the garage. Something to hold jackets, hats, gloves, some other odds and ends. This is my first project using cherry. I was surprised to learn how soft it was. I used full extension drawer slides. I also had to trim the crown moulding to fit flush with the corner of the wall (on the left side). They also wanted me to install the locker which meant doing some trim work as well.

Overall, I think it turned out well. Very functional. I used 3/4” plywood for the base and bench top, so it feels very solid. I also used a few dowels to line up the top cabinet piece with the bottom and a few screws to hold them together.

One thing that I’m learning with my projects is that I might as well make 2 of whatever I’m making. It never fails that there is a friend that wants whatever I’m making, but didn’t mention anything until I was half way done.
