While combing through the wood pile I saw a large piece of maple that looked to be rotted on the outside but had some unique spalting. I decided to grab it and throw it on the lathe to see what would come from it. I am quite pleased with the outcome. I only wish that I had taken some pictures along the way, won’t let that happen again.

Good bowl.
It seems like a lot of my turnings were potentially fire wood. Spalted Maple is one of my favorites.

Lovely spalting on a great looking bowl. I love rooting in woodpiles.
