A total of 58 pieces. Being my first open segmented piece my nerves are still on edge. I am sure it did not help that my son kept coming into the garage, and admiring the piece, taking snap shots of it with his phone, only to say, ”I want to take a few pics before it blows up on you…..You are going to be so mad when it happens”.
Darn Kids…..
I am pretty proud of it, and will go for another as soon as I can.
About 6 inches in diameter, and 4.5 inches tall.
If any one can tell me how I can turn it without so much vibration (the harmonic resonance was rather loud and scary) please share. I was thinking of wrapping it with some Silicon Fixit Tape. But I never did.

Good for you. I like your bowl. I keep wanting to do this. I just don,t know how. I keep thinking about the pucker power and have not researched how to do it. I hope to try one soon. Thanks for showing.

Edgy nerves, maybe, but it turned out great. Well done.

I just finished an open segmented vessel with 2 sets of open segments…....and I honestly can-not remember hearing any harmonics.
I don’t think I ever turned faster than 1500rpm….....because I was scared of blow’n it up.
Have your say...
