Hi All:
My stepdaughter and her husband have been competing in a bunch of different obstacle course races (my body hurts just watching these things). One of her favorites has been the Spartan Race. So when she found a picture of this project on the internet, she asked me if I could make one for her.
After a brief search I found a .dxf file (http://www.instructables.com/id/Knife-Block/) originally made for a CNC router. I imported the file into Corel and printed the pattern and cut it with my scrollsaw. The engraving is done with a laser. The wood is ash (which I found to be a pain in the ash to work with LOL), with wipe on poly for the finish.
I was a little concerned about the blades being out in the open, but I’ve seen a bunch of open magnetic knife holders here on LJ, plus they don’t have any little one’s running around.
Comments are welcome…
Max

Very cool project. Yours looks real good.
My son found this Spartan knife holder on the net…....and wants me to make one for him. I said sure nuff…..you provide the blades. He said he would.

I thought it was “Sparty” being attacked by the claws of Wolverine….
As much as I hate to say anything nice about the “Other” school’s mascot, it does look really cool and you did an awesome job!
