Clipboard with Integrated Pencil Box

SWMBO and I like to work crossword puzzles whenever we have a bit of dead time, but we were always losing our pencil. So I made this thing. The little box has room for the pencil, some extra lead, and an eraser just in case we (-ahem-) might make a mistake someday and need it.

The wood came from a neighbor’s mesquite tree that lost a battle with a thunderstorm. The hardware came from a cheap Office Max clipboard that lost a battle with me. The wipe-on polyurethane came from Minwax by way of Home Depot.

I struggle to keep a grip on a tape measure, a pencil, and paper thats new and doesn’t resemble litter so getting them all in one place at the same time is almost a miracle these days and despite the uneven surface and voids at the bottom where wood is missing and pencil punches through paper there is something about this particular modern office you made, that is just so nice and fuzzy feeling that I cant help but like it as it has a modern twist to the test of time

Nice work, love it : )
