My bite have been in a plastic container ( any which way ). I had to dig to get one. I have several drill indexes.
Some how they never get into the proper size holes ( burrs on shaft etc.) so I decided to make this one.
I took a 1” 1/4 PVC I had & cut it 5 1/2” 14 pieces. I took a 1”X3” and used a 1”1/2 forester bit drill all the holes & cut it in half. I use wood glue PVC to wood it holds really good.
I plan to put it in a draw but it is 26” long and does not fit. So I put a 35 deg. Angle & stood it up.
I know if it spills I’ll spend another half day sizing em up. I just put the smaller sizes I use most of the time. I will make one for the digger bits, the PVC will be longer $ and with better planning it will fit in the draw ( ha ha it say here).
I have a little plastic tray I put the used drills after use, at the end of the day I size them & put them up.
No plans just off the cuff idea.

Very neat solution! I need to do something like this for my mixed bits.

Great idea Mike,
Sure does save digging through a heap looking for that “Special” bit.
Thanks for sharing.
Bob.
-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Looks like it will do the intended job very well.
Have your say...
