As I managed to quit smoking last year, I decided that I should “reward” myself by buying a Scroll Saw.
I’m a COMPLETE NEWBIE to Scroll Sawing, so I designed and made this little sign as a “practice piece”. I’m quite pleased with how it came out.

Congratulations on quitting a bad habit, gaining a new toy, and learning a new skill. Have fun with it.

Congratulations from me also.
Great sign Keith, I haven’t used my Scroll saw for years, might have to fire it up again.

Thanks for sharing,

Well done job and congrats on quitting the habit. I always had problems with the A’s.

Looks good. I too am the definition of a beginner when it comes to scrolling. This was my first attempt
It was fun and pretty simple. I have made 3 of them and everyone get a giggle when they receive it.
Your letters turned out very even and very smooth looking. Looks like you are leaps ahead of me already.
Well done.

Go to this site and you won’t have to design patterns. This guy has wonderful patterns and programs to make many of your own things.

Thanks for all the kind comments folks!

JimInNM, I do use some of the patterns etc from scrollsawworkshop, but also enjoy designing my own, and decided to do that for the sign here as I wanted something that’s free standing and that doesn’t take up much space in my boxes that I take to craft fairs. This one, being only an inch thick and about 10 inches long by 5 inches tall, fits the bill quite nicely for me.
