Made one of these kitchen organizers for one daughter and I am in the process of making a second for another daughter.

Several months ago I requested ideas for a kitchen organizer in which to store wrap (i.e. aluminum foil, waxed paper, etc.). This is what I ended up with, modified from a plan I found on Binky's Woodworking website. The back compartment runs all of the way to the base and is enlarged to accept the kitchen wrap boxes.

Made of red oak. Six coats of wipe-on MinWax Fast Drying Polyurethane on the body, dividers and drawer exteriors; the drawer interiors got a good coat of SealCoat shellac.

Is this something you’ve designed yourself or did you go by some plans somewhere? Either way I like the design and think this is exactly what I need for my kitchen and my parents could sure use one as well. Thanks for a great gift project.

How about some basic dimensions or maybe a pic next to something to scale it off of. What thickness woods are you using, 1/4” dividers and 3/4” sides? Or am I way off?

Something_vague,

Glad you like the Kitchen Organizer – it could also be used for a desktop organizer. It was a fun project to build. Building details are available from Binky’s Woodworking website, a link is provided in the original post; The plans used to be free but apparently he is now charging a modest fee.

Dimensions: 9-5/8” h x 12” w x 5-1/2” d Drawers: 5-1/16” w x 4-1/2” d x 2-5/16” h

Hope this helps. Although the plans that I have aren’t great, they are really quite helpful for routing the different length dadoes for the dividers.
