Navy Plaque from live edge Walnut and Maple

I made this plaque as a giveaway prize for the local Navy Club Ship at our Navy Birthday Celebration several years ago. I was still fairly new to returning to any form of woodworking, and this was a fun return to it—barring the sanding of the whole thing. Like with any well finished project, a little sanding has to come…. LOL!

It was, but unfortunately, the original owner passed away ~6 months after winning it. His family still has it, as of the last I kept up on it.
