I got a Penn State lathe about a month ago and I’ve been playing a little. Started off with the Slimline kits and unknown pre-drilled blanks that came with it, then a Concava pen in maple, then branched out today and made a baby rattle for a co-worker (maple, no finish so it’s safe to gnaw on). I tried cutting captive rings with a skew but that wasn’t happening so I sacrificed one of the many allen wrenches that have accumulated in the shop over the years and made a captive ring tool.

Thanks for looking.

cool turnings, nice work on these. I find the wood lathe is one of the harder tools in my shop to master… well done!
