I now include a Certificate of Authenticity with all of my wood spirit carvings :) A good friend of mine, Bob, created the certificate taking my 3d carvings and turning them into 2D images- very cool, I think.
This wild and crazy mountain man is carved in a Hemlock knot and painted with oils. This is my first go round with oil paint, and I’m pleased with the workability of the paint.
This carving is 15 1/2” tall, 5 1/2” wide and 3 1/2” thick.
This guy is listed in my shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoshCarteArt

” Just Get On With It Already “
I’m old, tired and sick of waiting. I’ve heard your rig-a-maroo already, and not one bit of what you say today is different from what you said yesterday. So, please do us both a favor and just get on with it already.
I love to carve expressions, full of life and detail, each being different than the last. Every piece of wood presents different opportunities.

Hey Josh, I’ve never seen a “Mountain Man” before but this work of Art is surely a classic image of a Wild One.
Great work and I love your Certificates.
Thanks for sharing.
Bob.
-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Hey Bob, there are lots of folks around my parts that look a lot like this fella’. You must have never been to Appalachia :) Thanks for the compliments!

As always a very nice carving. Annoying that it went wrong with the tooth ;)

Well done.

You saw him in Montana, Bob? Man, he’s quite the traveler because I just saw him a few days ago pedaling his bicycle down my road :)
Thanks, guys!
