These Turkey calls were created by myself about ten years ago. I used this type of design hunting back in Wisconsin. Not only does it look great sitting on a mantle, they can be fun to play with when you show them to your children or grand kids. I hand create each item and tune it using the dimension of the wood. Each hardwood has it own unique sounds when played. I have been able to get sharp high pitched sounds and at the same time able to get low clacks depending on how I strike it with the paddle. Glue and clamps are used in the construction. A screw and spring are the only metal parts.
You can hear how it sounds here. I am very much out of practice when I made this video.
