Another box with legs
Dimensions – 106mm high x 110mm across. Box, 100mm long sides x 62mm high. Legs 9mm x 3mm, radius 127mm
Materials – English Sycamore, Purpleheart and Padauk
Adhesives – PVA and Viscous CA
Finish – Spray Satin Acrylic
The leg and top details are set in a 3mm routed groove.
The top design was originally a little different
but the end grain squares in the middle of the top showed barely any contrast
and so I reworked the top. I prefer this design in any case.

Martyn,
Another beauty….puts me in mind of a ballerina. The sycamore is elegant and accented nicely by the padauk and purpleheart.

I really like the one with the separated top handles. The wood combos make it snappy also. Very nicely done Martyn.

Very unique design Martyn and a work of art. Love the color contrast and the leg and handle style.

Now I have the Toto song running through my head! Some fine memories associated with it. :)
Another beautiful piece! I also love the way the handle is separate. So precise!

Sweet!
I too think you chose wisely with the updated top. That is so cool.

lovely box. I think that is a great design. I like how the lift curved lifts and that they are integral with the curved legs. A great idea.

Martyn, now that you turned to being a ‘leg man’, your work continues to be at the top!
Love your work!

I love the understated simple lines that give this piece a unique and elegant design. The color combinations in addition are quite beautiful. My favorite top is the two sectioned one as featured. The inlaid version is admirable, but heavier and too conventional for my taste. I like to see how one can “push the envelope” in their work.
