I made a matching pair of cherry picture frames as a late Christmas gift for a friend’s diplomas.
The miters are secured with hidden keys made of purple heart. The profile was a multi-bit combination of router bits.
Finished with 2 coats of Watco Danish Oil and top-coated with 3 coats of General Finishes Arm-r-Seal progressively sanded 220/320/400 between coats.
I matted the picture myself, which felt more time-consuming then the entire construction process.
Completed 1-2015

The finish/wood combination turned out great. I may have to try & copy your profile.
Thanks for sharing.
