I made this step stool for the kitchen so my wife can reach the top of the cabinets. It is made from walnut and I finished it with Danish Oil. I got the plans from Woodworking for Mere Mortals. There are dados for the steps, but I added screws from the side and plugged the holes. I really like how the Danish oil brought out the rich color of the walnut, it is my favorite wood. First picture is from a dslr and much closer to the actual color. The others are from my phone, and appear darker. The third is for any dog lovers out there, our wiener dog Sadie had to check out what I was doing when trying to take some pictures.

Looks good. Walnut is my favorite wood too, but dang is is getting expensive. I made one of those stool, but just out of cheap pine. My kids use it every day.

nice pup

step stool is pretty nice as well. Seriously, the bottom step is gigantic and that’s a really good thing.

I like it. Good job. My wife and daughter have been trying to get me to build something like this. Looks like I found my plan. Thanks for sharing with your fellow LJ’s.
