The quality of the projects on here tends to intimidate me! Yet I really want to see (for myself as well as the community) the progress I make in my builds. Here is a fairly recent project, though it has seen some heavy use already by the time these pictures were taken. This is my large table saw sled. All the materials are free and repurposed. It is made from 3/8 hardboard with a 3/4 oak main fence and an engineered oak flooring sample for the rear fence (oak veneer over mdf). The runners are hardwood. Since one of my main concerns is safety I added a piece of 3/8 acrylic over the saw kerf. At some point I will add a “blade/kerf catcher” behind the fence to keep fingers completely away from the blade and will probably dress it up some at that point as well. It may also see some kind of track and stop setup later as well. Right now it is seeing heavy use on other projects. The finish is Johnson’s Paste Wax. Comments and suggestions very much appreciated!
