The newest addition to my shop is a Stumpy Nubs inspired saw bench. The dovetails and draw-bored M&T legs make it very rigid. This is my first saw bench and so far I am very satisfied. Made from 2×4’s and 2×6’s.

I kind of like that design, is the base a pair of 2×4 laminated together? Joinery looks real good!

Nice build. I know you will like it. I built pretty much the same one from plans at Billy’s Little Bench (he has a sketch up model too) and I have used it on every project since.

Beautiful joinery on the project and pretty nice looking bench they are sitting on.

Thanks for sharing. Have you tried ripping on it? I want to replace my saw bench with a rip friendly design and your design intrigues me.

I was using an old chair before so I really do not have much to compare to, but based on the few rip cuts I have made I think its great. I chose to build one with a split top for that exact reason though. I also remember watching a Tom Fidgen video where he claimed that a saw bench with vertical legs will give you a reference to enable you to keep your saw vertical.

Have your say...
