This unique item was commissioned as a going away/transfer gift for a Navy Gunners Mate Chief. His shipmates brought me an old stock from a shotgun and asked me to make a paddle and put the two together to make what I call a “Shotgun Paddle”. There is a command coin embedded on the paddle along with the recipients warfare devices. On the stock we installed a Chiefs anchor and the Gunners Mate crossed guns insignia. I made the paddle and handle out of walnut to match the stock and finished the entire piece with clear lacquer. My wife did the wrap between the stock and the paddle. It is done in OD Green and Tan Para chord.

Thanks for the positive comments. I only had 3 days to get this done as it was a rush order. Finished it midnight last night and delivered it to a very happy customer at 8am this morning. Whew!!
