Made a coffee table to match a Stickley end table that my wife purchased. I found a great new source of quartersawn oak to make the project. Then, the hardest thing on this project was learning how to match the color of the original piece of furniture. I found a great source online and did my first multilayered coloring: water based dye, clear sealer, wipe-on stain to fill the open grain, then several coats of wipe-on poly.

Great looking table. I’m just finishing one up in Red Oak. Hope it looks as well as yours. Good job.

Looks great, looks like plenty of rays in the QSWO too. Very nice.

Don, very nice piece and a bunch cheaper than the purchased end table, I bet. :D

Great looking Stickley coffee table! And good job on matching the color of the other piece. Dying, staining, and finishing are such an art—looks like you’re off to a good start!

Nice job on the dovetail drawers. I hope to be able to do that one day.

The finish is especially nice, and the figure in that oak is exquisite.

Looks great. Which dye and stain did you use? I always it helpful when there is lots of detail on the finish steps used when looking through projects. There is just so much information out there that complicates everything.
