My interpretation of a Modern style box that appeared in Wood magazine March 2013. The woods used are Bloodwood (sides), oak, legs and top, and Walnut for the top. Size of the box is 7” square (sides) and approximately 6” high with the top on. Finish is spray lacquer. I had been meaning to try to make this for over a year and finally had the time to do it as a skill building project.

Well, it turned out nice. Definitely has a modern look to it.

Very nice. Is your top frame (or, I guess, lid) half-lap joinery?

The contrasting woods and the modern design are very complimentary. I really like the look ! ..... Well done !

I like those overlaping joints. You choose very nice woods (colours).
