Here’s a small rustic table made from wormy chestnut. Over several years I accumulated this chestnut from different sources. One leg really didn’t match once I exposed the underlying wood. Thanks to some advice from LJs, I was able to better blend the one off-colored leg with a mixture of two stains (Early American and Candlelite. The finish is three coats of General Finish Arm-R-Seal which darkened the wood and gave it a nice warm color.

Beautiful table! Simple lines that show off the grain are the way to go and who doesn’t love wormy chestnut? From the pics I can’t really tell which leg had to be stained to match the rest of the table. Is it the leg in the back closest to the stairs and the glass display case (pic #1)?

If you look at the last picture you will see the right leg is still quite different and has a different grain pattern (which is also causing issues). The other sides match up better, and having dark streaks in them, it ties in a little better with the surrounding legs. That leg will be hidden in the back, so I slowly getting over it, lol.
