Made these back around March of 2008. The wife shows Scottish Terriers, so I made the handles to match. Wound up making 2 sets of these. Will probably do some more of them…they make nice easy gifts.

Nice boxes. Love the theme. I’m a big Scottie fan. We had them as I was growing up. Heck of a lot smarter then my hershey mutt I have now (lab x husky) Love the beards on them. You captured them well. How did you attach the dog on the top? I am trying to do something like that with a box for my oldest but with her name as the handle.

Awosome box joints. Very well done. They have a nice, classic look to them.

Well done!

The box joints look great. Nice choice of handles.

I just glued them on before putting the finish on. Probably not the best way to attach them. But I figured they were just gonna set on display and not be used for anything. My wife took the first set that I made and auctioned it off at a silent auction for her local chapter of the Scottish Terrier Club. The second set, I gave to my mother on Mother’s day.

I cut the box joints on the router table, using a jig from Oak Park Enterprises Ltd. They used them a lot on The Router Workshop Show. Really neat jigs that make cutting box joints as easy and as quick as it can get!
