I’ve been wanting to build a miter saw stand for several years. I’ve looked at dozens of different types, but I need something that’s mobile and doesn’t require much space. I finally decided on John White’s version that appeared in Fine Woodworking a few years ago. I used his basic plan, but added a drawer and a shelf for cut offs rather than his dust collection with a shop vac. It’s made of Baltic birch except for the drawer front which is maple. The table top is 38” high and it’s 7’ wide with the wings extended. With the wings down its about 32” wide. Eventually it will get the Kreg Smart Stop system.

Very nice job. I have one that’s similar but without the drawer. Just a shelf and an area underneath to keep scraps for the time being. I like your idea of adding a drawer a lot better.

Nice build! I think this is on the want-to-build list for many a woodworker, me included.

Very nice design, I’m about to expand my shop by adding another 8’ x 12’ addition making my shop 12’ x 24” currently it’s a small shop 12’ x 16’, with the longer wall it should give me the room I need for the miter saw, only I have a beveling along with rotating table on my dewalt and use the bevel quite a bit so the board fence is the only thing that I’d have to omit from this design as they would be in the way of the bevel cuts.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice build. I need to build something to this nature but I want to attach it to a wall so I can slide my table saw under it.
