My sister is a rock hound. Has them everywhere. She asked me years ago to make her a shadow box for them but it was over my abilities at the time. I don’t think I had anything but a circular saw and a router and the best of my abilities was not very good. The case is made of 8/4 and 4/4 red oak and finished with rattle can lacquer. The legs and aprons are mortised and tenoned together, and the legs are tapered on two sides. There is a mirror on the bottom, a LED light strip, and then a piece of ¼ inch glass. The rocks will set on the glass between the dividers, and be lit from below.

Thats a very beautiful piece of furniture. The good news is your sister is going to love it. The bad news is she’s going to love it…....and put in her next order, then her next, ......LOL. Great job

Whereʻs the rocks? I think thatʻs soooo cool. That mirror on the bottom will real show off the rocks.

Nice job.
