Perusing online, I’d bumped into Hungarian shelves and thought they were cool. For a while, I had been noticing that our small basement laundry room lacked storage space. The wall are cinder block, which isn’t very conducive to hanging anything. One day in May 2014, something clicked. I built this out of some pine boards I bought for cheap at the ReStore and screwed the vertical supports into the floor joists. I’m afraid that I haven’t put wedges in, as one should, so the shelves tilt forward just slightly.

All right, I’ll bite …..... How is this design “Hungarian”?

Ha, that’s a good question. I have no idea, but that seems to be the name for this style of shelves

By rule—and by blood—I’m required to click on anything Hungarian. And as soon as the page loaded, I flashed back to my grandparents’ basement. Nice work!
