This is a recipe box I made for my wife for Christmas this year. Her previous one was about half the size and full. The design is mine but is inspired heavily by Greene & Greene. The original plan was to add an inlay into the top but I simply ran out of time. I’ll likely give her an upgraded lid for some future holiday/birthday. The box is made of walnut with Ebony plugs and the top is curly maple. It is all finished with one heavy coat of Danish oil and a coat of wax. The lid is held with Brusso 1-1/4”x1/2” small box stop solid brass hinges.
