Expandible Trivets I made for my family as Christmas gifts. I made 4 sets of these one is Black Walnut and the other is made from Hard Maple. The Maple is reclaimed wood from an old table I found for free. Was a fun project but a lot of work. Finished with rub on poly.

Awesome! Attractive, useful, and cool! Any chance of you posting the plans so that we can engage in the sincerest form of flattery?

Now that is awesome. I love the design and functionality. I’m sure my wife would love a few of those… seeing as the fabric ones always disappear in the washer or dryer.

Very interesting. How does it work? How about adding a series of photos to the posting to show it 1/4 expanded, 1/2 expanded, and 3/4 expanded.
Maybe the pieces before you glued them together would help us understand how it works.
Neat puzzle.
Thanks for sharing.

The trivet just slides from small to large as seen in the photos or anywhere in-between. I have available to anyone who wants it a PDF file explaining how to make them. Just PM me and I will send it

They look great Don..good job and from the looks of the comments..you will be busy sending out plans. I’m sure the kids enjoyed getting something hand made from Dad as well.
