This was my first diamond willow walking stick. The small practice piece next to it is the first complete woodspirit face I carved without messing it up. The walking stick was my second woodspirit and my cane, also in this gallery was my third face.

You should make a shadow box for the practice piece and display it somewhere.

If this is your 1st when you have some practice the results will be fabulous. Great job!

Very nice “BUG”.

When I started carving, the Spirit face was one of my first attempts.

Nice job, I beleive that is known as Dymond Willow. You could Google for the info. My son in law gave me a bundle of it which he cut in North Wisconsin. I still don’t have the carving talent to do nice carving like yours.

Nicely done , I have always liked the creamy colour of diamond willow.

Great job….I’ve done a few sicks now with woodspirit faces…...... mine are passable only! the details like the eyes and lip make your’s come alive, well done!
