This is a hall tree I built for my wife. It started as walnut logs back in the spring. Had them milled. Then I kiln dried them, planed, drum sanded, and joined the boards. It is all mortise and tennon joints with cast iron hardware.I used Minwax special walnut stain and the Minwax polyurethane 3 coats. Have around 80 hours in it total. She has waited for 4 years for this. Today she finally got it. Thank God i am married to a very patient woman.

Beautiful job. I really like the classic styling. May I ask what was the source for the cast iron hardware?
