I cut these pinch sticks out a few week ago and have been using spring hand clamps. I decided yesterday I
needed a better way to clamp the sticks. So I looked through my aluminum scraps and found 2 identical
pieces of aluminum about the right size with a 1/4” hole in the center and 4 threaded holes around the perimeter. I drilled the 1/4” hole out to 3/4” and removed the rest of the waste until the sticks would
slide through the hole easily. I then drilled and tapped the top of the aluminum for a 5/16” hex cap head screw
and snapped a T knob on the head of the cap screw. I can always use different length sticks for other
measurements. This set with 3 sticks will range fro 18” to about 66” fully opened.
I began using it on a furniture piece I am working on and love the way they work.
They can be used with either 2 or 3 sticks making them very versatile.
Thanks for looking and especially for your comments.
Have a blessed day and a Merry Christmas, Todd

Very useful and good use of the small scrap aluminum pieces too. I have a couple small drawers of various pieces of scrap metal(s). Never know when something will come in handy and it costs me nothing to store it.

Hey Jim,
I used to use those folder clips as well. I am soooooo I don’t even no a word for it.
I like things that are meant to go together.
And Joe,
I’m with you I used to go to a nice little scrap yard in Canada, but now that my wife is here permanent I don’t
get up there very often. I still have a pretty nice supply of Aluminum, I have 1 piece of 3/4” aluminum plate
24” X about 40” just waiting to become the table for something.
Well have a blessed evening guys and Merry Christmas, Todd
