My second attempt at the rose box. I had someone contact me about building one in short order. Since I already had the walnut and some padauk on hand, I got started right away and got it assembled. By moving the pattern for the red petals, I got the grain to appear to expand outward from the center which I think gives a nice effect.
Finish was with dark walnut stain on the base and spray lacquer over everything.

That’s fantastic! Really like those wood combos. You are right about the grain on the petals.
