I carved and painted this face entirely by hand. I painted with acrylics and sealed with urethane. I signed and dated the back of the carving and also attached a hanger. This is in Cottonwood bark.
6” tall, 5” wide, 2 1/2” thick.
“Windsor”
Windsor’s wise beyond belief
His presence feels as a relief
He knows just where to go at times
When nothing’s right
And the words won’t rhyme
He’s seen it before
He knows the way
He overcame this feit
Just yesterday
He was born to adorn
An illustrious mark
He’s a cool, firm pillow
For a hot night’s dark

Great carving Josh. Makes the viewer wonder “what is he thinking?” . . .
How did you like working with the Cottonwood bark?

Congratulations on a great result.
Bob.
-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

His expression is that of a man who is looking at that mountain, and knows, someday, he will climb it.
