I have made this project before but I made some improvements to it. I have made it so all joints are Mortise and Tenon except the bottom which sits in a groove. They are for our parents for Christmas whom both always seem to have piles of magazines and newspapers lying around. They are made from QSWO and finished with a mix of Dark Walnut Danish oil and Cherry stain along with 3 coats of clear Shellac sanding with 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper between coats and a nice heavy coat of paste wax. They look great! Thanks for looking everyone and Merry Christmas and Good bless you and your families.

Geez, Steve, will you please slow down? I show your projects to LOML and she wonders why I don’t get my projects done as quickly. :D
Anyhow, you really knocked it out of the park with these. I especially like the cutouts-are they considered tulips? Also, you found some great figured qswo and the finish shows it off quite nicely. These are very impressive and I am sure your parents will love them.
