I was commissioned to design something original and to make the trophies for the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb for 2014. I had to make 62 trophies in 6 weeks. This car race is for adrenalin seeking petrol heads that race against time and distance up the steep, winding Simola road. The races incorporate pre-1975 cars to the muscular engines, namely Lamborghini Aventador and the 2009 Mercedes Benz S165, to only name a couple. The Knysna streets resembled those of Monaco as the younger and in some cases fiercer cars thrilled thousands of onlookers.

Fantastic work as always Johan. You are a great inspiration of what intend to grow my small business into. That is a great turnaround time considering that level of design. Hopefully you have helpers if not WOW you the man. Do you laser engrave in house?

Take care

Thank you for your comments. I did the bulk of the work with someone to help me with the sanding and the polishing. I was under a great deal of pressure and worked very long hours. Glad when it was over. It all paid off, however, as I have been given the contract for the trophies for the next 2 years, at least with more time to complete it. Phew.

Very cool. Great designs and execution. The 2 year contract is well deserved.
