Today’s post is one that been on the to try list for awhile and what better reason than to gift for this up coming holiday season. Here a series of boxes that just resembles a freshly baked cake that just dripping with layers of icing. For you lumber jocks that want to try your hand at a band saw box this one has plenty of curves and re-sawing galore. I pulled out some nicely figured wood for these from Mahogany, Tiger Maple, Black Cherry, Birdseye Maple and some wonderful Rosewood. The finish is a mixture of BLO,Quick dry varnish (satin), and wood filler, which is hand rubbed and buffed. Thanks for viewing and a wonderful holiday season to all…Blkcherry

Hi Wilson. These came out quite nicely. Nice to see you took the plunge and completed this project. When you do it, you do it (three of them)! I made mine back in 2011, out of your favorite…black cherry (with tiger maple). I see you made some design changes, which is always nice to see. Well done my friend.

Beautiful and very graceful boxes. Hat’s off ! Thanks for posting such nice boxes. I need to build a jewellery box for my grand-daughter and I think I just got the inspiration. Thanks again.
