Made these cutting boards for a couple christmas gifts this year. These were very loosely based on a video by MTM woodworking on youtube but they ended up being very different in the end. I glued up some maple and padauk in strips, then cut a 90 degrees and glued again, adding in some random strips of padauk and maple, and then cutting again at an angle and glueing up again after.
The angle and the added strips added some interesting patterns, the smaller looking kind of like it has two spears going into it, and the wider having somewhat of a ray pattern. There were tons of combinations that could be done from these angled cuts but these are the patterns I came up with.

Good job. I really like that you created your own pattern, not all straight, aligned blocks. Love it.
