This box is finally of my bench and on my dresser after a couple of month of looking at it and figuring out what it wanted to be . it started out with a deco design in mind but I just couldn’t make it work in this configuration so I just let it sit there .
It is made from a nicely figured piece of jatoba for the lid panel that caught my eye and tamarac which is a local wood that I just love .
As you can see from the picture it has several compartments and trays that should make it possible to store just about anything in this .
The interior is lined with a dark brown material and the tray lifts are a black cord .
Dim.are 16’W x10”D x5”H
The finish is BLO and a coat of bees wax to give it that beautiful smell .
Comments good or bad are always welcome .

Very, very nice Klaus! I really like this one a lot. The oriental influence is especially effective and well designed. The choice of woods works here in a completely complementary way. The inside, and removable central tray are delightful. My compliments.

The only bad comment I have to say about it is that it’s bad to the bone :) Nicely done Klaus

Real nice. I like it a lot. You can see both the skill it took to build and design. Time well spent.

Klaus,
It is great, and better than Deco ( and I like the intricacies of Deco). It’s Kiefer! LOL! Love the movement in the horizontal planes, and that it floats gently!

Klaus,
I really like the light feeling this box has. The lines just flow. The wood tones just flow. The accent pieces blend and pop. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing. ... and I too really enjoy Jatoba.
