I came up with a pattern to make either mantel or wall-mount clocks using Kokomo Glass from Kokomo, Indiana.

I have already made two of these clocks… can see the 1st one here, and the 2nd one

My wife and I visited Kokomo Glass about 2 months ago while on vacation, and I picked up some more glass. I prefer seeing the glass versus buying it online. No two pieces of glass are alike, so when you order on the Internet from their web site, you don’t know what your piece will really look like.

I decided to use a yellow and white Kokomo glass on the latest clock. The wood is red oak from Menards.

My design for this clock makes the bottom horizontal piece removable. This allows you to spread the two verticals to insert the glass. I use small brass hinges to attach the horizontal piece to the two vertical pieces.

To see my trials & tribulations of building this latest clock, see my web site.

My photographic skills do not do justice to how nice these clocks look, the Kokomo glass is really very beautiful.
