Built for a client that was very specific. Dark walnut with bark intact, which to acquire I had to order from a mill in Oregon in the form of two smaller slabs and break down to the proper size.
Not really much to it as it is a decorative piece and not a daily utility shelf. The bark proved to be a challenge to work with in trying to prevent it from getting damaged while working with it.
No visible hardware, all pieces attached via Festool Domino.
Finished with General Finishes High Performance Satin Finish.
The first photo show the shelf without the added pieces to give the appearance the shelves pass through the sides.

I always like “live edge” wood projects. Outstanding job on this.

Wow,
I’m trying to keep Bark on Walnut slices and boards, treatment of bark appears to be a vexing and difficult action but the pieces I have are amazing and they deserve to be preserved together. Can you tell me what type of finish you used? is it the same product as the finish on the board as well?
Your work is fantastic,
