This was the reason I started woodworking a few years ago. The skills accumulate quickly and I like this hobby more everyday.
Made from poplar. The glue ups were the most difficult part – keeping the glue from going everywhere while lining up 14 slats. Many mortise and tenons. I got the plans off amazon – pretty easy to follow; although the cultist was wrong. According to recent code updates, don’t do shepards hook on the front side. It’s apparently a safety hazard.
For anyone following plans for a crib, ask the company selling the plans if they are up to date with codes. That’s how I found out about the hook. It wasn’t disclosed on the website.
Can’t wait to meet my baby boy.

Awesome looking crib. I was not in the position to build cribs for my daughters but you can bet that as soon as I find out that one of my daughters is pregnanat, Grandpa will be in the shop building cribs.

Exactly how I got started! Watch out it is addicting. Built the crib with a table saw and drill press, now I have a garage full of tools; to the wifes dismay:)
Have your say...
