Had some scrap Pine sitting around. Went out and bought some fuzzy red noses (pom-poms) and a few red bows. 1” nails and a spot of glue to attach the legs. Hotmelt glue for the nose and antlers. Light stain for the body, dark walnut for the antlers. Sharpie for the eyes. Used to be done on the bandsaw, but that machine is long gone. I do happen to have a scrollsaw, though. Edges were eased with a sander.

IF I needed a bunch made, five, maybe six of these can come from a single 1×6 x 8’ pine board, depending on where the knots are….

Nice use for a pile of scrap boards.

Love the reindeer, hate the fact that it’s that time of year already.

Will you be making Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen?
That and what about a sleigh & Santa?

Newer style, customer wanted something a bit different, so

I now have a router set upside down in the bench, to roundover the edges. Antlers are Black Walnut. They have a screw to attach them to the body. White Pine boards provide the scraps to do the rest.

We’ll see how these two go over….. may have to go out and get a wee bit more walnut?

I like the rounded edges, gives a more finished look. Hard to tell the difference in the walnut stain and the real walnut in the pics. Which do you like better? Thanks for the update.
