I would like to think I finally mastered cutting the floating rings, considering there are 9 just between two of the pieces in that pic XD. The funny thing is that little one in front is probably my favorite. I call it the ‘Randall’. If you mix ‘rose’ with ‘candle’, you get ‘randle’ (which phonetically is my middle name). I’ll play around with the idea some and make a more believable flower shape later on.

A little side note on the real tall one with 7 rings; the base is actually four square pieces I glued together and turned to make the base. It is also the first time I encountered how crappily endgrain glues to endgrain (I ended up getting a washer and wood screw and just fastening them together from the bottom. I also finally got my greedy hands on some calipers and gasp measured something! It worked perfectly and the stick fit into the base like a dang glove.

Aaaaand, last but not least, the last pic is of the snowman I’m working on. Still a little ways to go but I’m liking it so far! Still not sure how to handle the arms… got a few ideas though…

Well done!!!! I particularly like picture number two. The Snow Man looks great too, his hat has a nice jaunty angle to it!!!!
