So the wife has been really supportive of my woodworking since we’ve been stationed here in Korea. Never minded all the sawdust getting tracked back and forth from the porch through the apartment, never complained about it once. I didn’t think she’d really get out there with me and make some sawdust though. Boy, was I ever wrong!
She has just recently discovered Pinterest. And I mean in no time flat, she had picked out projects that she wanted to make and she knew just the guy in the building with the tools to make it possible. This is her first stab at using the table saw, sawzall, sanders, and she even did the finish all by herself! I’m about as pleased as a pig in slop!
She decided to make a couple of wine racks out of pallets. The first will go to her friend and the second is being donated to the Base Spouse’s Club for a fund raiser this Thursday. She picked out the pallets, did all the cuts, the sanding, and then picked out the finish she wanted and did it all herself. The upright posts are finished with GF Black Cherry and the entire piece got two coats of Liberon Tung Oil.
Thanks for lookin’. Hope y’all enjoy, she sure as heck did!

Sounds like you both will be getting more tools now to keep up the cool hobby together.

If the Wife is Happy Life is good. And if she is happy doing woodworking it is even better.

Seems you are the rare type to woodwork in an apartment. Same here. You give me confidence since I feel guilty for making a whole lotta noise. My wife tells me I shouldn’t mind. Seems we’re both lucky.
Have your say...
