For a customer who lives on Smith Mountain Lake. Rather than the lake tray he saw, he asked for two lake map pictures to hang on wall. Measure 26” x 28”, backer board and lake cutout from Baltic birch, frame is pine with ebony stain, and wording cut from red oak. I was able to stack and make two lake cutouts at same time (took @ 2 hours to cut). Hope he likes them when he picks them up! Thanks for looking….

Nice work, It’s one of those why didn’t I think of that projects. Are the roads a convenient way to make a large map fit on your scroll saw? And how do you do the labels for them?

The roads are drawn with magic marker. The map cutout is 24” x 26”, one piece (used a spiral blade) kinda large for scroll saw. And the labels are printed on computer using clear vinyl adhesive stock. I have done a dozen or so different lakes (one ocean) and all started with my Lake Gaston Trays!
